- Nicknamed "The Bishop" and "Church Van" by his teammates in Seattle, he recently became an ordained minister after training with AME Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. One day he plans to start his own church after his playing days are over.
- Loves to listen to Gospel and R&B music and hopes to purchase a studio to produce his own some day.
- Stared the Leonard Weaver Family Foundation to help those with diabetes and to spread knowledge about the disease. His inspiration came from his grandmother, who tragically died of diabetes during his rookie season. He also has done work with the ADA in Seattle and plans to continue that work in Philadelphia.
- Hosted an annual "Summer Bash" in inner city of Seattle which was a free picnic with music and games for kids and their families.
