Ragina Cooper Averella recently joined AAA Mid-Atlantic, where she serves as the Public and Government Affairs Manager for Maryland. Ms. Averella is a graduate of Towson University. She spent twelve years with the Baltimore Police Department, initially as a police officer and ultimately, as the department's chief spokesperson and Director of Public Affairs. She has also served as a spokesperson for the Maryland State Police.
Ms. Averella most recently served as the Public Relations director for a Baltimore-based agency, where she performed public relations services for clients, such as Associated Black Charities of Maryland, the Municipal Employees Credit Union of Baltimore, the Maryland Alliance for Senior Health, Corinthian Realty Partners, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.
In her role at AAA Mid-Atlantic, Ms. Averella will lead the public affairs team in the area of motorist safety. She will also share her extensive media, law enforcement and government affairs expertise in a way that will bring law enforcement, legislators and other concerned parties together to address the issues that impact Marylanders' travel needs, while advocating for the safety of the millions of members which AAA Mid-Atlantic serves.
