Mahlon G. "Lon" Anderson was named Staff Director of Public and Government Relations for AAA Potomac in June 1994. Today, Anderson directs both Public and Government Relations efforts for AAA Mid-Atlantic, which serves more than 3.4 million members from New Jersey to Virginia.
Anderson's background contains a wealth of experience in both local and national public affairs. Anderson recently served as Chairman of the Board of the Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP), a nationally recognized business/government coalition to fight drunk driving and underage drinking for two years. He also served on the Pedestrian Blue Ribbon Panel and the Transportation Policy Review Task Force in Maryland. On the national level, Anderson has served as press deputy to two U.S. Secretaries of Education and as Vice President of Public Affairs for a Washington trade association.
