Repair vs. Replace?
- Size of the damage
- The majority of windshield repairs involve quarter-sized rock chips and cracks up to three inches long. Anything bigger will recommend replacement.
- Location of the damage
- Cracks at the edge of the windshield tend to spread very quickly and can compromise the structural integrity of the glass. If they're caught in time, they can be repaired. But in most cases, it's usually advisable to replace the windshield.
- Have it repaired quickly
- If you wait some time to repair it, dirt can work its way into the damaged area, affecting the effectiveness and clarity of the repair. Additionally, the crack can grow too long to repair.
- Severity of the impact
- If your windshield took a big enough hit, it may simply be beyond saving. BIG objects or accident damage often go beyond what any repair can fix. In these severe cases, replacement is a must.
Warranty Information
AAA Mid-Atlantic warrants installed or repaired automotive glass against defects in material and workmanship. This warranty applies for as long as you own the vehicle in which the repair or replacement was made and it is not transferable.
In some cases, the attempt to repair a windshield can result in the chip or crack becoming larger. We are not responsible for such damage.
If you are dissatisfied with the repair, we will credit you the amount of the original repair toward replacement.
Exclusions This warranty does not cover leakage or stress cracks caused by pre-existing rust and other damage caused by accidents, theft, vandalism and impact with foreign objects. Any repair or attempt to repair the automotive glass by anyone other than AAA Mid-Atlantic voids this warranty. The warranty does not cover any special, incidental or consequential damages. You may have other rights which vary from state to state.
If you have a problem that is covered by this warranty, we will replace or repair the warranted product or correct the defective workmanship. If we are unable to do so, we will refund the original purchase price of your warranted product. Please contact us at 866-4GLASS1.
